CHQ WIRE · TECHNICAL CONTENT

What is the difference between CHQ wire and wire rod?

This section explains the differences between CHQ wire and wire rod in terms of material form, processing condition, application, and quality requirements.

Basic Differences Between Wire Rod and CHQ Wire

Wire rod typically refers to hot-rolled steel delivered in coils, serving as the raw material for subsequent drawing, heat treatment, and surface treatment. CHQ wire is further processed and validated from wire rod to meet the requirements of cold heading or cold extrusion applications.

How to Choose

The two are not simply a matter of superior or inferior quality. If used for wire drawing or other processing, select the appropriate wire rod based on subsequent processes; if used for multi-station cold heading, complex cold extrusion, or parts requiring high batch stability, select the corresponding CHQ wire based on steel grade, process route, and inspection requirements.
